Hornets in Utah can usually be identified by their nest or hive. They build a large football shaped nest like the one in the picture above. These nests are usually hanging in a tree, but can sometimes be hanging on structure such as your home, shed or playset.
These pests are very protective of their nest and will get aggressive if they feel like there is any threat present. They are particularly agitated by vibrations and loud noises such as lawn mowers. The most common Utah hornet is the Bald Faced Hornet. These can be recognized by their black and white coloring instead of the yellow and black coloring that most of the other bee and wasp-like pests have. Hornets and Yellow Jackets are both territorial and it is uncommon for you to have more than one nest on your property. If you want to eliminate these pest from your yard without the high risk of being stung in the process, give us a call and we’ll get it taken care of for you.
These pests are more aggressive than wasps with a predatory nature. They have the abilities to sting multiple targets, and their stings can be fatal to humans. Hornets in Utah resemble wasps, but they are black and white with some bright color. Also, they have thicker and more rounded bodies when compared to wasps. They have fat heads and stay in large nests. They feed on sweet plant matter while their larvae are fed with insects or actively consume their hosts. The Hornets in Utah nest outside in trees, shrubs, or sometimes under decks and eaves. They lay their eggs in high nests built specially for them. Hornets measure 1.8 to 5.5 cm long. Hornets are dangerous due to their multiple stinging capabilities that they will display if provoked.

I have had Beeline spraying my house for several years now. Adam is the best to work with. Very knowledgeable, thorough, respectful of my home and friendly. If you have any bug issues, I would highly recommend calling.

Tanner is very efficient and pleasant to work with. He has treated our properties several times. We started using Beeline several years ago when we had an ant problem in our house. Since we started using Beeline, we don’t have that problem any longer.
